Hello guys, I installed big sur on this laptop
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700hq with Intel Hd graphics 530
Ram:16gb
Egpu: nvidia gtx 970m
It boots ok and I see the f
my problem is that I really can’t get the full acceleration of this graphic
I used many patches and failed
The only setting that allows me to enter big sur is the AAPL, ig-platform-id string 0x191b0000
How can we fix it? Should I install something else? Change the macos to older versions?

Post a copy of your OC or CLOVER folder. Just make sure you remove the Serial number, Board Serial Number, MLB, Rom and SmUUID from the config.plist.

I can have a look at your setup and see what if anything needs attention.

Also you need to confirm the make and model (be explicit) of the laptop.

The AAPL,ig-platform-id entry is incorrectly entered in your OC configplist:

The Framebuffer for your Skylake IGPU reads like this:

Whereas it should read like this:

Screenshot 2021-09-15 at 14.04.01.png

Change the Framebuffer to correct this issue and you should have full acceleration with the IGPU.

I am not sure if you correct the IGPU framebuffer issue as recommended above that you need all the IGPU boot arguments you have in your config.

  • agdpmod=ignore disables AGDP patches (vit9696,pikera value is implicit default for external GPUs)
  • igfxfw=2 boot argument (and igfxfw property) are used to force loading of Apple GuC firmware
  • igfxonln=1 boot argument (force-online device property) is used to force online status on all displays.
What you should be using is the -wegnoegpu boot argument to disable your Nvidia GTX 970M discrete graphics card. As the Maxwell series of Nvidia cards are not supported in anything newer then High Sierra and then only with the Nvidia Web Drivers. The Maxwell cards are not natively supported like the old Kepler series of cards.

Came to a conclusion that I just need a correct ig-platform-id to work properly with whatevergreen

Using default 00001619 makes it stuck. Which I think that more needs to be done. But I’m so useless.

I just came across a patch but it’s for 19120000
I want for the 00001b19 or 00001619 if they are correct for my laptop.

The 00001b19 framebuffer should work with your laptop IGPU.

00001219 is the framebuffer for a desktop system, so not correct for your laptop.

There are other mobile/laptop framebuffers listed in the WhateverGreen FAQ Manual - https://github.com/acidanthera/What...telHD.en.md#intel-hd-graphics-510-580-skylake

You may need to do a bit of tryout with the other mobile framebuffers to find the one that works (best) with your laptop’s IGPU.

I’ll check that after I leave from hospital. I tried with 00001B19.
It doesn’t show the gui or desktop. I want to talk this through. I know the laptop is maybe weird but it should work. But it doesn’t. Is there any patch

Is there a way to use 0x19xxxxxx instead of swapping them 00001619 for example?

No there isn't a way to use the framebuffer as 0X191B0000. The Framebuffer needs to be entered with the paired bytes reversed as I showed.

If you were entering a fake device id in the OC config.plist, then the device id would be entered as 191b0000.

They are not the same, so entering the framebuffer should not be confused with entering a fake ID.

Your CPU's IGPU device ID is definitely 0x191b. So the matching framebuffer should be 00001b19. However that is not always the way things work in macOS.

Have you tried replacing the 00001b19 framebuffer entry with any of these other mobile framebuffers:
  • 00001619
  • 02001619
  • 03001619
  • 00002619
  • 02002619
You may need to add an extra line to the DeviceProperties for your IGPU, device-id, as shown below:

Try adding this HDMI patch to the IGPU Device Properties, alongside the framebuffer.

enable-hdmi20 <01000000> Data

or -cdfon boot argument

Sir it’s impossible to access gui unless entering 12345678 or ffffffff platform id
Frustrating ... a lot

Post an updated copy of your OC folder, so I can see what changes you have made Since Wednesday. Don’t include your serial number or other SMBIOS entries.
