The i9-9900K is supported in macOS since Mojave 10.14.4, if you are using the latest version of Mojave then you may not need to do much to get the new CPU working.

The kexts, drivers and SSDT's will all be the same for both CPU's.

Natively Apple uses a different SMBIOS for the iMac containing the i9 CPU compared to the i5-8600K, iMac 19,1 verses iMac 19,2. So I personally would change the SMBIOS to suite the new CPU.

Both CPU's contain and use a UHD630 IGPU, with slightly different device ID's 0x3E98 for the i9 and 0x3E92 for the i5. This shouldn't make any difference if you have the system set to use the IGPU for graphics processing and the Coffee Lake IGPU Framebuffer is set correctly in your config.plist.

Thank you so much. So if I reinstall all after upgrading bios for the new i9-9900K yhan I can use the same USB pen drive that I was using for the i5-8600K? I mean I have to change the SMBIOS after, new serial number ecc... But the USB istaller is still the same that I have made before or for the i9-900K I have to change something? I don't belive so... Many thanks.

Do you know where I can find on this forum the tutorial to get a working serial number ecc...?
At this point is the same for i9-9900K? I have to change the SMBIOS also on the USB Installer?

The Property Value is determined by the generation of Intel CPU and whether your Display/PC Monitor cable is connected to integrated graphics (iGPU) or a dedicated graphics card (dGPU):
  • Coffee Lake Intel UHD Graphics 630
    • iGPU:
      • AAPL,ig-platform-id: 07009B3E
    • dGPU:
      • AAPL,ig-platform-id: 0300923E

Yes you need to change the SMBIOS on the USB installer.

You can use Corpnewt's GenSMBIOS-master python script to generate a number of SMBIOS's. https://github.com/corpnewt/GenSMBIOS

This works in Windows using the GenSMBIOS.bat or in macOS using the GenSMBIOS.command.

You need to add the -cdfon boot argument and the enable-hdmi20 property to your config.plist, to enable the WhateverGreen.kext HMDI 2.0 patches.
