Hi,

I'm installing a hackintosh (10.15 recovery installer) using OpenCore 0.6.5. My setup is as follows:
1. Intel i5 4690
2. Gigabyte H97-D3H
3. PowerColor RX580 4GB (DP Only Output, Connected to monitor using a DP-VGA converter)

I cant get to installer screen but suddenly my screen turned pink, alternating with a static. Mouse and keyboard worked fine, though. I'm not sure if this due to framebuffer or VBIOS or some other problem.

Attached with this message is the EFI (with log) and two pictures of the screen. Perhaps someone can enlighten me, or better, help me with this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the kind reply.

I have tried using EFI attached; the problem persists though. However, I managed to go on with the installation and ready for post-installation tweaking if needed.

The system detects my VGA (Radeon RX 580 4GB) but just that, I guess.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Dumb of me to recognize DVI as DP. The GPU uses DVI-D output, which is then converted to VGA.

Edit #2: Following this guide I managed to fix the pink screen problem through EDID. Still can't fix fuzzy static screen problem.

Tried using SSDT fix, still no luck. Does anyone know how to specify custom number of connectors, since my RX580 only has 1 port?

Thanks!

Which RX 580 do you have? I've never seen a PowerColor RX 580 with just one port!
Provide details of the make and model specifics.

Hm, I never thought of that before. It may or may not some shady Chinese GPU, but the system detects it as a proper PowerColor card. And it works, at least in Windows. I suppose they are using the same vBIOS but different output port. And I'm pretty positive that it can be worked out, to disable some of the "ports" registered.

I think this one is based out of https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/powercolor-rx-580-mining.b6073 but with reference clock and config.

Some update: I finally gave up on being headless and ended up using DVI port on my motherboard. Works well so far, but I'm afraid if this will cause another problem in the future (Can't enable quick sync etc.)

So no graphics issues using the IGPU to drive the display?

Sorry to say this but it sounds like you have a GPU that has a Vbios from a Powercolor card, but it is not a real PowerColor GPU.

You need to change the SMBIOS you are using to one that only has an IGPU (Mac mini) and remove the discrete GPU card.
