Good morning!

I'm looking for some help, please. ROG Strix Z390-i, 8700K, no GPU, just the onboard 630 UHD.

I followed the guide over at tonymacx86, but it fails (completely freezes, mouse pointer and everything) with 2 minutes remaining every time. Some of the errors reference not being able to format the drive to APFS, their guide said to format to the older file system, I tried both ways, but it still fails in the same way.

This is my first time making a Hackintosh and so I'm not sure where to go next, can anyone here help please? I have screenshots of the errors attached to this post.

Thanks. 20181109_212955.jpg 20181109_212959.jpg 20181109_213003.jpg 20181110_102502.jpg

I am in the same situation but my specs are different:

Asus Prime b360 plus (i bought it after checking the parts guide)
I7 8700 (not K)
Gigabyte RX 580

it gets stuck with the 2 minutes remaining, my guess is that it is sending a restart order the mobo can't complete.
After that, if i try to complete the install it gets stuck on 13 minutes remaining.

What i have tried so far:

Format the drive APFS and HFS Journaled
Change the ID to IMAC 14,2 and 14,1
change clover settings on fixshutdown, fixUSB and almost every fix i have seen, bu maybe THE ONE is the one that is left
Use the onboard Graphic card and the RX
Use USB 3 and USB2 ports to install

If anyone has got to finish the install, please, tell us!

I was in the same boat a couple of days ago. For me it was just a matter of rebooting:

-Power off the computer (long press of the power button did it for me).
-Allow it to reboot from your install media (probably a USB stick).
-When reaching the Clover boot manager screen, besides the "Boot macOS Install from ..." you should have a new "Boot macOS from ..."; choose the latter.
-It should go to the white-apple-on-black-screen boot as usual, and then switch to the gray install screen and continue/complete installation.

My guess as to why this happens is that the installation process reaches a point where it needs to reboot, but some misconfigured parameter prevents it from doing so, so the PC gets locked (totally unresponsive) instead. The good news is that a manual reboot will allow it to proceed; the bad news, at least in my case, is that the unability to reboot (and shutdown and sleep) remains even after post-installation (at least, I haven't been able to find a fix for it yet).

I'm *very* new to hackintoshes, tho, so my modest advice comes without any warranty, not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ...

Good luck!

P.S. The "need to reboot" might occur several times through the install; I think I might have "hand-rebooted" at least three times. In case of doubt, persevere!
