I'm trying to install macOS Catalina on my first Hackintosh. During the initial boot from the flash drive, I select the "Install macOS Catalina" option and the Apple logo comes up. It just stays on that screen forever.

Here my EFI folder without the Themes folder and i removed the serial from config.plist.

What can i do?

Do you think the installer on my usb is broken?

It took around 3-4 hours to copy files to the usb stick using terminal on a virtualmachine and my vm went in sleep mode during the process.

Your Clover folder had a few issues, try the attached CLOVER folder and see if it boots your system.

@medz You really should wait till the release of Catalina 10.15.2 before you install macOS on your system. Apple have added support for the Navi family of AMD cards to the second developer beta for 10.15.1, which includes your RX 5700 XT.

Until 10.15.2 is released to the public there are no drivers for your RX 5700 XT graphics card, so you will have issues no matter what we try.

Here is the link to a post over at AppleInsider, where I found this infomation - https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/10/18/amd-radeon-rx-5700-works-in-macos-catalina-10151-beta-2

So I would recommend you wait for the next version of macOS to be released, or temporarily remove the RX 5700 XT card from the system. Thenyou will be able to install macOS Catalina 10.15.1 with the Intel GPU.

Let me know what you decide to do.

I installed my RTX 2070 and it worked to install mac os. Then I upgraded my system to beta version 10.15.2 and I added the attribute "adgpmode = pikera" in WEG in the clover boot menu. I then installed my RX 5700 XT back and everything works perfectly!

Thanks for your help!

Good to hear your new RX 5700 XT card is working and your system is up and running.

Out of curiosity did you use the Clover folder I provided in post #4?

Do you want to share your working clover folder with other members, just make a copy and remove/redact the Serial Number, Board Serial Number and MLB to safe guard your own working config.

Sorry for the delay I was on vacation.

Yes, i used the Clover folder that you provided! Thanks again.

I upgraded my CPU for a i9-9900KS and my motherboard for a ROG Maximus XI Hero and now i can't boot.

Do you know what i need to change in my clover folder to make it work?

Thanks

The only difference I can see is that you need a different Ethernet kext, Intel in place of the Realtek you used previoulsy. The other drivers, kexts etc. should all work with the new setup.

I would check that the Bios settings are correct for macOS. That is more likely to cause your system to kernel panic than something in the other CLOVER folder.

Change the following settings:
  1. Virtualization : Enabled
  2. VT-d : Disabled
  3. XHCI Hand-Off : Enabled
  4. Legacy USB Support: Auto/Enabled
  5. IO SerialPort : Disabled
  6. Network Stack : Disabled
  7. XMP Profile : Auto / Profile 1/Enabled
  8. UEFI Booting set to Enabled and set Priority over Legacy
  9. Secure Boot : Disabled
  10. Fast Boot : Disabled
  11. OS Type: Other OS
  12. Wake on LAN : Disabled
Dedicated Graphics + Integrated graphics card:
  1. Integrated Graphics : Enabled
  2. Graphics: PEG/PCIe Slot 1
  3. Initial Display Output : PCIe 1 Slot
  4. DVMT Pre-Allocated : 128M or higher
I have attached a revised CLOVER folder, with teh correct Ethernet kext and a new config.plist set for your i9-9900 CPU. This includes a new SMBIOS for a iMac Pro 1.1, which works best with this CPU. I ahve updated the MLB, ROM etc. and checked then with Apple support.

Once you have your bios set, try booting with this CLOVER folder and let me know how you get on.

I made the changes and I replaced my clover file by this one. Now I'm stuck here.

I have changed teh OsxAptioFix driver. See if this gets you to macOS.

Still stuck at the same place.

I tried with my Canatalina usb installer because im not able to access my EFI folder on windows.

I tried the method with Minitool partition wizard to mount the EFI partition and then open it with Explorer++ but I get an error "EFI is not accessible. The directory name is invalid." when i tried to access the EFI folder.

I think it will be easier to reinstall everything, but im still stuck at the same place when i try to launch the installer with the Clover folder you provided.

Ok, I need to look in to this some more. It is obviously not the OsxAptio... driver that is causing this issue with your system.
