Looking for input regarding replacing my 2010, 12 core 3ghz macpro.

What would I be looking at price wise to get hackintosh that will be a big move up from the Mac. I already have a gtx 1080 video card.

I use it for video editing with Resolve, and music. I would need a compatible firewire 800 card as well, to use with my UAD firewire interface.

Suggestions?

With the GTX 1080 you would be limited to installing High Sierra, as Mojave doesn't have any Nvidia drivers, yet.

With regards Motherboard and CPU, for a current high end spec as your MacPro 5.1 would have been I suggest you look at the following for inspiration:

If they are looking too expensive then there are a list of builds on this site - https://hackintosher.com/builds/
