Hackintosh High Sierra 10.13.1 Update Guide

The macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 update brings security and stability improvements as well as a fix to Spotlight not accepting keyboard input, new Emoji’s, Bluethooth Apple Pay fix and finally reliability improvement to Microsoft Exchange message sync in Mail.

10.13.1 Update

High Sierra 10.13.1 has been released along with it updated Nvidia Web Drivers. It’s safe to update your hackintosh to if you wish.

This update is done a little differently and is not automatically. When the computer rebotos you may have to select. Install macOS from “drive_name” to complete the update.

If you are updating from a version of macOS earlier than High Sierra 10.13 follow one of these guides:

Before updating follow these steps:

1. Apple File System Users

If you already have a HFS+ drive it wont be converted to APFS if your worried about that.  A new version of apfs.efi is out with 10.13.1 update to the latest version if you have  an APFS formatted drive and place it  in EFI/Clover/Drivers64UEFI/

2. Nvidia Web Drivers Update

If you are using an Nvidia graphics card in High Sierra either update your Web Drivers to the latest version or unistall them before installing the High Sierra 13.1 update.

Nvidia 10.13.1 Web Drivers:

Remember to enable SIP when you install the web drivers and then disable them again after installing.

This guide worked pretty well for me.

Some notes:

I couldn’t get the 10.13.1 drivers to install (not available to install on this OS) – giving me a black screen after installing the OS. Followed the recovery process for “black screen” High Sierra, this enabled me to to boot and install the newer Nvidia drivers for 10.13.1.

Also, After a couple of days, I got a kernel panic when booting – looked like an error with Lilu – it was very hard to catch the panic on video.

Upgraded to Lilu 1.2.1 and this fixed the problem.

A lot of your configuration plists contain many of the default fixes that come with multibeast or clover templates, why not clear them?
